The Australian Government has implemented major changes to the subclass 482 visa, transitioning it from the Temporary Skills Shortage visa to the Skills in Demand visa. The transition appears to have been particularly beneficial to the childcare industry, with the addition of “Child Care Worker” on the Core Skills Occupation List.
Please be advised that UPC campus operations (both Sydney & Melbourne campuses) will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays from Monday, 23 December 2024 to Sunday, 5 January 2025. As we approach the end of the year, I am thrilled to share two pieces of exciting news with you. First, 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of UPC College, a significant milestone that highlights our unwavering commitment to education and your success. Second, I am delighted to announce that the College’s license has been renewed for the maximum duration of seven years, extending through 2031.
The NSW Government, through its Smart & Skilled Traineeship (SSP) Program, provides training subsidies to eligible visa holders and their family members across 25 specified visa subclasses.
Among these, 12 temporary visa types qualify for the program. These include holders of visas 309, 444, 445, 449, 461, 485, 785, 790, and 820, as well as family members of visa holders on 482, 491, and 494.
UPC College proudly launches its 2024-25 campaign for the NSW Government-funded Smart & Skilled traineeship program, offering six sought-after qualifications in areas of childcare, ageing and disability support, business, and leadership & management.
